BERLUSCONI JOKES MONZA PLAYERS ‘ASKED HIM TO KEEP’ BAWDY PLEDGE

Monza President Silvio Berlusconi jokes he ‘already received 100 calls asking me to stand by my word’ after his bawdy pledge to provide the team with ‘a bus full of wh***s’ if they beat Juventus.
The promise was caught on video during the club’s Christmas dinner, when he suggested a different way of ‘stimulating’ the players to beat one of the big sides.
The clip was shown all over the world as yet another example of former Italy Prime Minister and Milan patron Berlusconi’s often out-dated sense of humour.
Monza did indeed beat Juventus 2-0 today in Turin with goals from Patrick Ciurria and Dany Mota Carvalho.
Speaking to La Repubblica, Berlusconi confessed the issue of the bus had come up.
“I already received 100 calls asking me to stand by my word.”
The Monza social media team also had some fun with the story.
